Its one of the most used forums here and its full of nothing but shit. 99% of the threads are just flame wars. Its all hooey if you ask me. I am now only posting in the drug war threads down there. Good bye gun dungeon.

but I'm afraid the I/P forum is just the same way. Do you ever get the feeling that, on issues like those (guns, the Middle East), and other issues like the Civil War/Confederate flag, abortion, etc., our grand and great-grandchildren will be posting the same exact shit fifty years from now?

certain prissy anti-gun illogical whatamajiggers make it a nightmare down there. I don't mind people disagreeing with me, but there are some absolute anti-gun nutjobs that simply cannot form logical arguments or offer any real evidence to their belief system - ask them a question, and they just attack.

I'm not saying I'm always right, or that the pro-gun are always right, but I hate people, on whatever side, who simply will not enter into a discourse. And the gun dungeon seems to be the locus of attraction for all the whackjobs. The pro-gun side has a few, but it's really the anti-gun side that's totally way the hell out of control with an inability to be anything other than in attack mode.

Funny, considering they claim to be so anti-violence, that they should awlays be in high gear, pre-emptive strike mode, and carpet bombing tactics.

here's a typical kind of exchange, and I'm sure you'll agree with me on this:


Anti-gunner: "So we can see that Columbine (or pick the terror of your choice here) happened because of the gun-show loophole."

Pro-gunner: "There is no gun show loophole - it's a false meme. And you can't say that Columbine happened "because" of the gun show loophole, anyway. Maybe it would have been facilitated by it, were it to exist, but not caused by it."

Anti-gunner: "That's just more propaganda from the Charlton Heston side of the brigade. Why don't you just go kill a bambi, you vilolent swiller of nonsense and child-killing legislation?"

Pro-gunner": "Can't you just answer what I said? That there is no loophole, and that even if there were, it couldn't have "caused" Columbine?"

Anti-gunner: "It's up to YOU to prove that it wasn't, because I said it first. Nyah."

and so on.

I hate it down there. There's one guy I can think of right off the top of my head that does this constantly and without end.

but i can think of the one poster you are talking about who has done it since day 1. The shits old, its a pantload. Your discription was so true though. It gets old reading it. I put the said poster on ignore but nothing makes sense in any of the threads. I notice said poster stays out of the drug threads so i think i might just stick to them.
