Joke: Bush is a post turtle
Bush is a post turtle:

While suturing a laceration on the hand of a 70-year-old Texas rancher (whose hand had caught in a gate while working cattle), a doctor and the old man were talking about George W. Bush being in the White House.

The old Texan said, "Well, ya know, Bush is a 'post turtle'."

Not knowing what the old man meant, the doctor asked him what a post turtle was. The old man said, "When you're driving down a country road, and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle.

The old man saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain, "You know he didn't get there by himself, he doesn't belong there, he can't get anything done while he's up there, and you just want to help the poor dumb thing get down."

5. My w* post turtle
My mailbox is mounted one of three "fake" pilings. Rope wrapped around them.
Very nautical, very salty.

Shortly after the 2000 selection, I found a realistic looking acrylic (or something) turtle just the right size. I epoxied him on top of one of the pilings. I got a small, reflective "W" and mounted it right below the turtle. Subtul political humor.

A few months ago I noticed that the turtle's head had been damaged, like someone had tried to remove it. Damned freepers! A few weeks later there was damage around the edge of the shell. :wtf:

Finally dawned on me that squirrels were gnawing on it. Evidently their teeth keep growing and they have to gnaw on something hard to keep them worn down.

p.s. The little 3 year old girl next door saw the "hurt" nose and got her mommy to get a band-aid for it. It's still there. :-)

6. Reading this post
(no pun intended) makes me hear Baxter Black from NPR read the story. So does that make Shrub a Loggerhead Turtle?
