Do you ever want to tell someone to borrow some class for the day
L's funeral was today.

There was this woman there. She was dressed in these ratty capri pants, a RED wifebeater tank top, complete with visible black bra straps, and a white see through top over it with applique'd flowers on it. She was a bleached blond, but she had a good 2-1/2 inches of roots, but to top it all off, she wore flip flops, to a funeral.

1. I understand your point totally. But (while of course I won't care when
it happens since I'll be dead) I wouldn't care a bit if someone were to show up at my funeral dressed that way.

2. I just felt it was the height if disrespect
L was a WWII vet and a purple heart recipient. I figured that alone would rate showing some class and dressing appropriately.

4. No, I know what you mean, and in relation to someone elses funeral, I
think you're absolutely correct. I just meant that it occurred to me as I was reading your description that I wouldn't mind if someone showed up like that at mine. I broke off contact with my family decades ago, and I'm a social phobic - so, aside from my wife, I doubt that there will be anyone at mine. Just an observation, not looking for any comments on it or anything :)

6. Yeah, I am sure I won't give a shit when I die either
but funerals are not for the dead.

7. yeah, but that wasn't exactly my point. I mean, now, if I knew it was
going to happen, it wouldn't bother me.

Anyway, enough of this, it was just a side issue - I wholeheartedly agree with your point.

5. Thank you
The words "white trailer trash" come to mind when thinking about this.

assholes jumping all over you.

Don't let it get to you.

12. Only when it makes me feel that I'm better than them because . . .
. . . I have to lift myself up by criticizing others.

13. My dear KitchenWitch......
Yes, it was trashy,

But as someone else here said, she did show up.....

And for me, showing up would be way more important than how she was dressed.....

Still, I understand your point of view.....

Since you made the effort, then why can't other folks?

Who knows......

14. Do you have something against bleached blondes??
Harumph!!

:spank:
BTW...I'm the type of person who would pass by her and say "Glad you dressed up for the occasion." I can't help myself.

Am in Flagstaff tonight, going to Window Rock on the Navajo Reservation tomorrow to take pics.

17. I've Seen Women In Super-Short Cocktail Dresses at Funerals...
... and others use funerals as an excuse to read their Original Potry™ (having nothing to do with the deceased).

My favorite was the people asking in loud whispers who was I at my father's funeral.

So yes, I know EXACTLY how you feel. New clothes aren't necessary; hell, not everybody has extra money, but surely she could've managed a skirt and blouse (even I have that).
