Will Freepers Boycott "The Return of the King"?
Ian McKellen who is openly gay has spoken out against Bush (Freepers don't like gays or anyone who speaks ill of Bush)

Viggo Mortenson spoke out against the war in Ira & Bush (see the reason above)

Elijah Wood spoke out against Bush recently

WIll they punish the actors by boycotting?Hmmmmmmm

Mordor et. al"

The FReeps see the apopolyptic battle between good and evil in LOTR's as reflecting the real world instead of Tolkein's grand myth, so no, they'll be there with bells on.

Nevermind that if George W. had been Elrond, he would have had the One Ring on his finger faster than he can say "weapons of mass deschtruction."

Nevermind that Morgoth (the original Dark Lord) gained his greatest victory when Feanor refused to give up the Silmarils to restore the tree of the gods--i.e., selfish "capitalism" over concern for others.

This I'm sure all lost on them. They just see a big Aryan warrior whacking a dark skinned orc with a sword, yee-haw!

On edit--the theme of LOTR's is that sacrifice is the essence of goodness and happiness. Frodo is not powerful, he is not rich, he is not terribly smart, he is not violent (even in the scouring of the Shire, he refuses to participate). The only thing he does is sacrifice himself for the good of others.

This message is completely antithetical to the GOP's of "get all you can, all the time. Do what's best for you, and to hell with everybody else."
