4. I'm glad you like it. I looked everywhere for that Photoshopped
pic of Bush in a sandbox, playing with toy soldiers. But I couldn't find it, so I used the codpiece photo. And if I can find a Shakespeare quote about a stuffed codpiece, you can be damned sure I'm gonna use it!

Good to see you, LouisianaLiberal!

5. verily I say thee
By my troth, I was seeking for a fool when I found you.
As You Like It, Act 3. Scene 2

Let the doors be shut upon him, that he may play the fool nowhere but in's own house.
Hamlet, Act 3. Scene 1

6. Those are good ones, Smooth Operator!
I love those lines. I'm trying to get away from the idea of an anti-Bush quote a day. After all, the right wing has offered us so many target's of the Bard's wit and wisdom. Anti-Bush every day would get boring. If you like, Smooth Operator, click on my journal sometime to see all the others.

Welcome to DU! :hi:

16. luck of the draw
Aristus. I'm away from my desk during the day sometimes and it seems I only see the Bush postings. I really enjoy the Bard. So much of what he wrote about is germaine to what's happening in todays world.

10. Thanks for the pics!
I may be able to use them at a later time now. Thank you! Out of curiosity, what do you Google to find them? I tried 'Bush, sandbox, toy soldiers', and nothing came up.

Thanks again! :-)

9. how about this
Two Gentlemen of Verona

Act 2. Scene VII

LUCETTA
You must needs have them with a codpiece, madam.

JULIA
Out, out, Lucetta! that would be ill-favour'd.

LUCETTA
A round hose, madam, now's not worth a pin,
Unless you have a codpiece to stick pins on.

17. As always, the fool tells the truth: Lear Act III, scene II
KING LEAR
No, I will be the pattern of all patience;
I will say nothing.

Enter KENT

KENT
Who's there?

Fool
Marry, here's grace and a cod-piece; that's a wise
man and a fool.

19. "Lear" is a colossal demolition derby of a play.
My wife played Goneril in a college production once. It's brutal to have to sit through. The director of this production even cut Edmund's death-bed redemption! There was nothing to give one hope at the end. But outstanding at portraying both the nobility and the tawdriness of the human spirit. Shakespeare nailed that one.
