I've decided to learn Old English.
This will be my third largely unhelpful but cool sounding linguistic skill, alongside my ability to speak Gaelic and conlang like a muthafucker.

Word thín méder tó, biccan. (That is, "word to your mother, bitches")

1. I don't know which is scary, the fact that you really want to learn that
or the fact that I understood that.

6. Middle English is so annoying.
I took Medieval Literature in college. I'm sure my hatred of Middle English is also fueled by the incredible DICKWAD I had for a professor.

Except for "rlk sdf" it looks like it could be a real language.

What it is?

14. Next year I can take Old German, which is cooler than Old English
You should take Old Norse, it's cooler than OE and it gives you an excuse to hang out in Chambana with all the coolest people

22. My grandfather's cousin had to learn it for her PHD in English lit
She considered it the hardest part of getting her degree too. I never really studied Old English, but wouldn't it be easier to learn than most foreign languages?

23. It's barely recognizable as English.
Middle English is pretty easy once you get the hang out it though.
