Freedom Tower

This is an undated artist's rendering of the Freedom Tower plan for the World Trade Center site. The design is a collaboration between Daniel Libeskind, who submitted the winning plan for redevelopment, and David Childs, the chief architect for leaseholder Larry Silverstein. The proposed tower will be topped by broadcast antennas and environmentally friendly windmills, people familiar with the latest plans for the building said Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003. 4. Yes yes it does
Okay that is three different takes on it.

I sure hope they don't get the ' and " thing mixed up. I'd hate for it to be in danger of being trampled by dwarves.

7. When a mommy and a daddy cigarette really love each other...
They make a tacky-looking memorial like that.

Plus, if you look at the top, there is clearly a cross.

9. Why can't they just make a memorial park in the spot?
"Freedom Tower"-what a stupid name, it's making me think of "freedom fries". They couldn't come up with anything better? I guess I should be thankful they're not calling it the "Patriot Tower".

12. A Park in the city?
What a novel idea.

I think we all tend to forget that people from what 60 different countries lost their lives that day. This is not OUR tragedy it's the world's, which is why everyone was so willing to help us out....was.

11. What a dumb design
It's not even remotely asthetically pleasing. It looks like any other sterile, glass office building, circa 1974.

Whatever happened with the memorial garden-type renderings someone posted here a couple of months ago? This thing doesn't fit with any of those either.

13. The 5 finalists were rejected by the families
Pretty quickly too. If I remember correctly they were unveiled and by the time I got home they were already rejected.
