My daughter had her dance recital tonight
She was excited all day about it, and when she got up on stage, she did not freeze up. In fact she was a total hammy!

:D :D :D :D :D

She has come a long way from almost dying two years ago, of a very severe asthma attack! And I am so very proud.

2. As you should be

I am happy for your daughter and you. To be able to get out and perform in front of strangers is a thing I admire. Hell, I froze when I had to talk in front of my class

4. Oh Kitchey, baby, that is SO wonderful!
As a mother myself, I feel surrogate pride in your daughter, and tears of joy knowing that she survived the asthma attack (my daughter has asthma too, though not as bad as yours).

Cheers to Spawn of KitchenWitch!!! :loveya: :loveya:  :loveya: :loveya:

6. It was really cool
I went to the florist and got her an arrangement of 4 red roses with greens, baby's breath and ribbons, and gave her the whole diva treatment after the recital. She was absolutely beaming.

5. Her group tap danced to the song "Happy Tapping with Elmo"
and they were the first group to dance. (ages 4-6)

There was a group of 3 year olds that tap danced to "Limbo Rock" and in that group was a set of twins that were visibly angry to have to be up on stage (which was very comical to the audience). They both stood up there with their arms crossed, and when the song was over, one of them waved.

Thankfully, our community access cable station videotaped it so we can buy the DVD (instead of having to videotape it ourselves and not getting as high quality video.)

Will you be able to extract a couple of good stills from that DVD? :)

15. That's understandable.
:( It's kind of sad that this is a reasonable thing to do though.

16. I agree that it is sad
Most of the pictures had other children in them too, so there is a permission issue as well.

8. Wonderful!
I did tap and ballet when I was young. I rather wish I'd kept it up longer. I actually may have if I'd had the opportunity.

Tell your daughter I said "way to go". :applause:

9. Will do!
The whole time she was on stage, she was smiling. More than I can say for over half her group!
