Why do they put your name on your False Teeth
If you lost them would you want someone to know that they were yours and how could they return them to you if they don't have your address included after the name.

If someone came up to you and gave them to you and said I found your teeth would you say oh that's someone else with the same name or thanks I lost those at Halloween.

1. Since when do they do that?
My husband has a full set and there's not even a mongram, much less his name, on them!

3. I have teeth with my name on them
I tried to peel it off and it won't come off. Now how would they find me in the City of Chicago if my First name is Debbie and my last name is a very common name.

2. Probably so that if you die a horrible death
that's the dental records to identify you.

5. The lab probably does that so they get the dentures to the right person.
Can you imagine sending your dentures for repair and getting someone else's dentures back? Granted, due diligence on the part of the technicians should prevent that from happening, but why take the chance?

6. We recover dozens of lost dentures and partials
in our hospital every year. We even have to throw out some sets that are never claimed.

We have never had a set with names imprinted. it would make finding the owner so much easier!

You might be surprised at how many people take their teeth out after a meal and wrap them in a napkin only to have it go to the dishwashing room on the food tray!

12. probably in case they are repaired or lost...
I had an aunt that had teeth that didn't fit and she would put them in a hanky and they would move from her pocket to her mouth to her pocket to the table...you get the idea...

She is lucky her teeth had her name on them..

Personally I think she should have had them fitted better so she would have just kept them in her mouth.
