OMG The heady scent of Lilacs makes we want to
jump for joy! It's almost summer now! The Lilacs are in full bloom and all I want to do is run around out back naked!!!! Yay! Many don't know what happy a day summer is in 'these here parts'.

I promise I will not be a threat to myself or others. :headbang: I'll be right back...

1. they are rather intoxicating aren't they?
Our lilacs are just about done here, but our whole village smells wonderful when they are all in bloom.

3. Aren't they amazing?
I don't know where you are in NY but my daughter is a college Student in Syracuse. I remember during her freshman year she whined about it being almost as bad as here. And she had hoped to get away from this kind of weather.

There are so many trees and shrubs we can't get up here. Lilacs and apple tree blossoms seems to be about it. So I run around nekkid because, ummm, because I can.

4. east of Saratoga
and my lily of the valley makes for a good buzz this time of year! Generally blooms along with the lilac. Later in the summer I have Casablanca lilies, yum! I am sick of rain though.

6. No fair! I want some!
I'm originally from the mid-Atlantic region and we had honeysuckle there.. I used to pull the pistons out just for that tiny drop of sweetness. My friends would quickly tire of it such a small payoff, but not me. Down there, we had green grass by St. Patrick's day, Cherry Trees and even Mimosa with it's most beautiful smelling pink fronds. OMG! :-)

7. I love the smell of lilacs in the spring
Unfortunately, our lilac season is done. I lived in three places (Greece, Charleston, SC and southern California) in which lilacs don't grow. One Saturday, my husband and I went to the open air market in Ventura. I went to a flower stand. The man had cut lilacs in a bucket. I went crazy smelling them since it had been so long since I smelled them or saw them. I think the flower vendor thought I was crazy.
