Why must I listen to my neighbor's music?
I don't make them listen to my music.

I know it's early in the day, but can't the basic rule of common courtesy be: keep your noise to yourself?

1. When you figure out how to make it stop without actually killing anyone,
please let me know. We're sandwiched between a bunch of little bitches who run their bass and subwoofers at tectonically dangerous levels, and a huge family who I think honestly don't know how far their music travels. :grr:

2. I suggest that you have on hand
Opera recordings, bagpipe music, polkas. Play as needed
(Opera works for me and I have a friend who swears by polkas.)

3. Classical Selections to annoy the Rock and Rap fans!
1. Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture- Make sure you get either the Telarc Digital recording by Eric Kunzel or Antal Dorati's recording with the real cannons.
2. Handel's Music for Royal Fireworks- Does wonders, often paired with the Water Music for a Fire and Water Combo
3. Beethoveen's 5th and 9th Symphony-If you get the Leonard Berstein recording, you can hear the Ode to Joy sung as the Ode to Freedom by singers from the other side of the Berlin Wall
4. Holst's The Planets- Get Adrian Boult's last recording and really blow them out with Mars the Bringer of War
5. Wagner's The Ring Cycle- May not be the loudest, but if you get the whole cycle, it's 17 hours of opera
6. Bach's Toccata and Fuge in D Minor- Find a recording by Peter Hurford, done on the historical pipe organ in the Colonge Cathedral.

These have all worked for me, but since I have 2 monster JBL studio monitor speakers and 2 500 watt amplifiers, your milage may vary.
