10. Word of advice?

If you're not ready, but you think maybe when you are ready he might be a nice guy to go out with, tell him to call you in 3 months or 6 months. Tell him exactly why. Otherwise he might feel not so good as well. Who knows what rejection issues he's also dealing with (we all have them don't we?)

Anyway. I had a girl tell me that once and I actually felt ok. Basically..."Look you seem like a great guy, but i'm still hung up on my ex and I don't want to be 'that girl'. You have my number. Call me in 6 months and If I'm ready I'd love to go out with you then. I just don't want to jump the gun, ya know."

I totally understood and respected her honesty (though was a little bummed...she was really cool, fun, and gorgeous). Better than being told nothing, and made me feel like I had a shot down the road so it wasn't a total downer.
