Why does the Food Network allow The Olive Garden to sponsor its shows?
:eyes:

i mean shouldn't a sponsor actually have GOOD food?

what the hell is the Taco Bell of Italian chain restaurants doing on a real FOOD channel?

15. I like it, too
I know real Italians don't consider the Olive Garden "real Italian food", but I think you get a lot of decent tasting grub at a decent price there.

19. we often have nice family dinners there
because it's very central and you can get a table for a lot of people. The food and atmosphere are pretty good for a chain and the staff are always so nice. Their berry crostada is quite good.

I've eaten at many good mom and pop and highbrow Italian restaurants as well, but there are many worse places than the Olive Garden.

If something isn't your cup of tea, so be it.

6. Thank you. As usual, you are right on the money.
Maybe when you watch the chefs on FoodTV, you realize just how wassy and inexpensive it is to make all that stuff at the Olive Garden yourself.

8. They fit right in, man
Any network that has both Rachael Ray and Sandra Dee deserves to be sponsored by Olive Garden.

13. Hey, they are not the Taco Bell of Italian food. That title belongs to...
Fazoli's. Olive Garden is more the Chili's or Bob Evans of Italian food.

16. Food Network is food porn...
I'm guessing a large percentage of Food Network viewers don't have the ambition to make scrambled eggs, but like looking at food and feeling like a gourmet. FN is a perfect venue for OG... "Now that this TV show has your appetite all fired up, come to OG and eat more in one sitting than you should in a week."

Saw part of some show hosted by the old host of "Double Dare" (Mark Summers?) and it was about the "culinary" aspect of Disney theme parks... gosh, did you realize you can get an ice cream bar shaped like Mickey's fuckin' head? Ice Cream Sandwich? Pancakes, steak, pizza, pork rinds, bologna and a million fuckin' food items shaped like Mickey's fuckin' head? A one-hour ad for Disney masquerading as a TV show, but without the usual disclaimers. Not a big fan of Disney, or the Food Porn Network... a network devoted to making you think you should be cooking and eating 24-7.
