Kitty picture thread featuring Cuddles, the lardass Ragdoll cat!
Here he is pretending to explore the "outdoors." Even though he's an indoor cat, he's allowed to hang out on the deck since he's too big to fit through the bars.

And here he is resting after his "big outside adventure!"

3. Yeah, he's a good-looking, dumb lump.
Edited on Wed May-24-06 03:32 PM by haruka3_2000
He's not the brightest of animals, but he has looks on his side. I think he weighs like 18lbs. The funny thing is he's not all that overweight. He just has an insane amount of fur. We also have a rescued cream-point Ragdoll, Peaches, but she wouldn't sit still for a picture. He doesn't move and she never stops moving. She's a tiny Ragdoll, very skinny and she only weighs 9lbs. The scary thing is when we rescued her, she only weighed 5.5lbs. The breeder claimed it was because she had kittens recently, but they were starving her. We also have two domestic shorthairs.

4. He's 18lbs, the fur contributes as much as the fat.
Actually, a male of his breed can get up to 25lbs and not be overweight. His father was taller than a coffee table.

5. So he's a Maine Coon?
He looks like he's got that kind of double layered fur, but I couldn't tell for sure from the picture.

6. No, Ragdoll is the breed name.
They get to be just as big though. They're weird cats. They don't shed, almost totally hypo-allergenic, rarely meow, and have to be kept strictly indoors because they don't have a defensive instinct (hence being Ragdolls). It's funny because he gets jumped by the other cats all the time and he'll just lay there half-asleep. The fur protects him and the attacking cat will walk away with tufts of fur on each paw and a mouthfull of fur. There's also a short-haired version called a Ragamuffin.

That's not even his full-length fur. We get him groomed every few months. He looks a lot smaller when he comes back. He gets a "lion's cut" so he's all shaved except for his mane, end of tail and feet. It looks ridiculous. The other cats make fun of him.

25. Cool.
If I got to choose the breed of my cats I'd definitely look up the Ragdoll. If your cat is typical then I love the look of them, and they are very similar to the Maine Coon, which is my favorite breed of cat.

I've never chosen my cats. I've taken in recent rescues. All wonderful cats, and I love them to pieces, but everyone has their ideal.
:)

26. He's the only one we bought.
We have two rescues (including an abused breeder "Ragdoll") and one that was given to me. The gift cat was the kitten of a pregnant feral cat that "adopted" my friend.

8. He also works as a foot warmer after you've been shoveling snow.
His main skill is actually laying completely skill and warming up whatever you put him on.

He just let's it all hang out.
He's neutered though. I caught him humping the other Ragdoll one day...it was actually funny to watch. She looked very bored and he almost looked confused.

but it's not as though he's going to the Olympics. His job is to be cuddly and gorgeous.

12. He sounds like a Main Coon. They loll around. I knew one once that
walked into everybody elses apartment in the building to play with all the other cat's toys. He just walked in and over to the catnip and other cats.. even males.. just watched him. You can do that if you are twice the size of everyone else.

Glad to know there is more than one kind of lazy, easy-breezy cat out there.. cause neither of mine are "relaxed".

14. Actually, it's my smallest cat that does it.
Edited on Wed May-24-06 04:36 PM by haruka3_2000
Midnight only weighs 8lbs. All the other cats are scared of her. Midnight is just a bitch. She will actually steal their toys, lay on them and nap. Then, for a follow-up act, she'll chase the other ones away from the food, sit down and not even eat. When I lived in an apartment complex, she used to walk into random apartments all the time, check the scene out and leave.

I mean, look at this stare. Is that a cat to be reckoned with? She even wears a leather spiked collar.

21. My old black cat was mean to, she would try to boss me around.
I had her from a kitten, was there when she was born.

She had that same look, the other cats just backed off.

She ruled the yard.
