Mom Chases Down Home Invaders In Her Purple Cadillac Escalade
<snip>

Furious at the armed men who had invaded her North Las Vegas home Monday afternoon and terrorized her three children, a 5-foot-2-inch woman jumped in her purple Cadillac Escalade and drove after the men as they fired shots at her, police said.

The 28-year-old single mother "just didn't want these guys to get away," North Las Vegas Police spokesman Tim Bedwell said.

The men had stormed into her home in the 2900 block of White Peaks Avenue, near Losee Road and Tropical Parkway, and had taken a small home safe that she said contained her three children's birth certificates, shot records, Social Security numbers and other personal papers, Bedwell said.

The woman, whose name was not released, called 911 from her cell phone at 12:30 p.m. to report the home invasion and told the 911 call taker that she was following the suspects' gold Chevrolet Malibu. As she followed the vehicle, one or more of the men began firing at her, and at least one bullet struck one of her tires, forcing her to pull over, Bedwell said.

By chasing the suspects herself, the woman, whose children -- ages 11, 7 and 4 -- were home at the time of the robbery, "definitely put herself in more danger than we would have preferred," Bedwell said.

"We always warn people that they just never know if a suspect is armed. Well, in this case, she knew they were armed and she went after them anyway.

1. My evil grandmother chased down muggers once.
Granted, now that she's senile, she likes me, but she is still evil. Anyway, this is when my family lived in Union City, NJ. I was probably about seven and we lived in a two-family building owned by my grandparents. We had the downstairs apartment and my grandparents lived upstairs. My grandmother went to the bodega to pick up some diapers for my sister. We're inside watching tv and we hear a whole lot of screaming and banging around outside our door. Naturally, we ignored it, because we heard banging around and screaming outside our door daily.

Well, it turns out my 70something-year-old grandmother was getting mugged and we basically just turned up the volume on the tv. She chased the mugger down for several blocks into a car accident scene. The cops had to RESTRAIN MY GRANDMOTHER! She kept punching the man, after the cops already had him cuffed. My dad worked for the city as a building inspector and was friends with all the cops. They finally believed my dad as to how crazy my grandmother was.

Actually, she routinely still challenges people to fights. We had a black belt party at my house. Picture crazy 85-year-old woman challenging assorted black belt guys to fights.

"You think you can take on an old lady like me? Huh? Huh? Don't doubt an old lady like me? I bet I could kick your ass! Show you a thing or two! Wanna feel my muscle?"
