Are you vain?
C'mon — 'fess up. :bounce:

I am. I pluck my eyebrows (if I don't, I get a unibrow, which is rather Cro-Magnon), I trim my beard and moustache rather anally and, as some of you may have discerned, I'm rather fanatical about my hair.

I've also stopped wearing certain shirts because of this... this mass where my abs used to be.

Oh — I haven't worn shorts in public since I was about 10 and Eric Schmidt (no, not the Google dude) told me I had skinny legs.

1. Vain, me?
Surely you jest.

I'm actually thinking about using this as the epitaph on my tomb-stone:

"Vanitas vanitatum dixit Ecclesiastes vanitas vanitatum omnia vanitas"

2. What does that translate to?
"I came, I saw, I vained?"

4. Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities, all is vanity.
Somehow it seemed to suit me. :eyes:

3. I don't think that's vanity, I think it's taking pride in how you look
and caring about how you come across visually in public. It's about hospitality to others and basic politeness: I don't wear clothes that are inappropriate for the situation; I strive to have my beard trimmed and tow- and finger-nails clean and trim; I don't have a body that looks good in spandex, speedos, or muscle-shirts, so I don't wear them so that I don't annoy/gross out other people.

And so on.

It's not vanity until you make sure other people know what you've been doing, or if you do it only to get attention and/or verbal affirmation from others, or to try to "outdo" others.

5. Well,
I did recently buy some Revita-Lift for the 'fine lines' under my eyes that had become deep gouges. :scared:

And I've always been more attentive to my hair than most people.

Other than that I wouldn't consider myself vain.

10. Yes
I do the eyebrows, see a hairstylist instead of a barber, pluck gray hairs out of my goatee (when I have one) so I can still pass for ten years younger than my actual age, use L'Oreal for Men products for my facial skin, and I sometimes match my earrings (silver, gold, diamonds) to my outfits.

Yes, I'm straight. I know that's your next question.

13. I wasn't when I was younger but that seems to have changed over the years.

You have great hair!
Although ~ I do think you should let those legs out for some sunlight and fresh air.

18. seems the older I get, the less vain I get..not that I don't still try to
look my best so that I can feel my best but,I no longer "worry" about what other think about my looks...they are what they are and I feel comfortable in my own skin. I try to stay physically fit and keep my hair nice and dress appropriately for the situation...weird thing is I wear LESS make up now than I did in my younger days...to tell the truth I have not worn any make-up the past year and a half...

19. I'm vain about my hair
I'm up this early just to go get my hair colored. I can't stand it now that it's turning gray. I know I'm irrational about this, and it's expensive. Wish I could just get over the fact that I'm turning older!

24. Yep. I won't leave the house without make up on.
I don't have eyebrows any more so I have to draw them on each morning. I want my hair neat and my clothes pressed no matter where I'm going. It's a matter of pride in my appearance. I don't do it for anyone but myself but I guess it would make me vain.
