Who likes Freaks and Geeks?
We've been netflixing it. What a great show.
The characters are so good and it really brings back feelings
of being in school.

2. What stole the show for me was...
I think it one of the *best* representations of early 80's HS. What stole the show for me was the dialogue. Spot on writing that makes John Hughes (the good one-- not his evil twin) sound like Dr. Seuss meets (insert favorite, trendy, angst-ridden, me-and-my-tattoos-against-the-world rock band here).

It really does bring back those heady, care-free days of '80-'84. Buying a loose joint in the boy's room for 2 bucks and hitting the pizza place's buffet for lunch.... mmmmmm. (long, LONG time ago it seems)

That sounds awfully familiar. B-)

3. Possibly my favorite show of all time
We have it on DVD, and the first time we watched it all the way through to the last episode, I felt like I had lost a friend! Watching that last episode was heartbreaking...it was like having to say goodbye to someone you wanted you wanted to get to know better, but you knew you'd never get a chance.

I think I grew so attached because the characters were so well written and really did seem real. They were definitely more real than most of the so-called "reality" stars of today. And the acting was superb, too. Every actor pretty much nailed it every time.

A great show canceled waaaaaaay before its time. Dammit.

7. that's exactly how we felt when we reached the last episode
it was like having to say goodbye to someone you wanted you wanted to get to know better, but you knew you'd never get a chance.

We walked around in a bit of a funk for the next couple of days, feeling like we'd been robbed of more time with these people. Stupid network execs should be prosecuted for that

5. I love that show. Have you noticed that one of the guys
from Freaks and Geeks, (a writer I think), Paul Feig, has been directing a few of The Office episodes? That was a delightful surprise.

The other show, Undeclared isn't too bad either. It's no Freaks and Geeks, but it has its moments.

6. awesome show. I saw it all on DVD too
we never really watched it while it was on TV, but when the DVD came out we rented it and watched the whole thing as quickly as we could. Amazing writing, great acting, a wonderful feel for the time (though I'm a bit younger and only vaguely remember those days). Just overall brilliant. I was quite bummed when the DVDs were over.
