5. sorry
Sometimes I can be woefully uninformed about reps in state other than my own (NY. Still, a recall some of his speechs on the floor and I liked him.

9. wow - the freeps are being very honorable
Many posts talking about the honor of Sen. Simon, and how much they appreciated him even if they disagreed with them.

And they found opportunity to take an awful lot of potshots at DU. I love it!

I'm very impressed with their attitude. They even pulled one post that was apparently quite nasty.

14. Is it just me or is it REALLY a strain to read their board??
Maybe I'm just used to how well-put-together DU is ... It's difficult to follow who is responding to who, it's just one blurb of (surprisingly humane) responses about Senator Simon.

17. It is difficult.
In the longer threads it can be almost impossible to see who is replying to whom.

It's a very sloppy setup.

7. I am sorry to hear that
I cast my first vote ever in a presidential primary for Paul Simon back in 1988. Thank you Senator Simon, for your service, and condolences to his family.

Just heard a phone interview on the television this weekend, he was endorsing Dean from his hospital bed. I'm so sad I don't know what to do

illinois. When I was about 3 and living in this puke town an hour from Chicago, my mother was in trouble because the INS fucked up her alien status (don't remember the specs) and my mom called all the politicians and she finally called Paul Simon's office and like a week later it was all sorted out.

He was an excellent man, like Tip O'Neil and the other anti-Reagan members of congress.
