It was a tender TV moment when the couple professed their love for each other on ABC’s "The Bachelor."

But now, "Extra" has learned the shocking news that the happy couple has decided to split. In a statement released today, Firestone says, "It is totally amicable and, though we care for each other deeply, we have come to realize that our future goals are different."

Schefft also wants the world to know that even though they met on TV, she says their love was real.

for the guys who picked girls, but Trista and Ryan have all of these wedding planning shows and the actual wedding on air??

I've never watched any of the Bachelor/Bachelorette shows, but think it's odd that they don't strap the guys into following through with their commitments the way Trista and Ryan are following through with theirs ...
