DU this poll PLEASE!
http://www.sun-sentinel.com

Sick to think that anyone voted for Raygun's face on the Dime. If that crap goes through, I'll take two nickels instead, thank you very much.

2. Did it...
Why in the hell do they want to change the dime profile? I guess I didn't care to read about that story...I should've.

But Christ, FDR did more for this country than Reagan did. FDR got us out of the Great Depression and got us out of WWII. All Reagan did was raise the national debt and give Iraq the weapons we're supposedly after them for now....

I just don't get it....

4. Let's wait until Ronnie is dead and very cold in his grave for this
I would like to see a law passed that nobody be allowed to have their image on a U.S. coin until they have been dead at least 100 years. That will put a stop to all this "idol worship" crap. And to have the image of a living person on their country's coin is something that someone like, well, Saddam would do, isn't it?

15. The law is, I believe, not until someone is dead for 10 years
I know it is for stamps, but I think it is for coins as well.

I hate all this Reagan rah rah bullshit. When I become president, I'm gonna have to spend the first 6 months just taking Reagan's name and likeness off all this crap, like National Airport and the USS Ronald Reagan, to name just a small amount of the entire wealth of crap that's been named after that criminal.

8. My two cents (no pun intended)...
if Reagan ends up on the dime or the $10 bill, refuse to accept them from banks, as change, etc. Make it the next Susan B. Anthony currency.

And, if you find one in your possession, give it to a left wing charity, or the Democratic Party.

Ronnie'd love that, if he could comprehend anything beyond when his next feeding will be.

their response to try to defend FDR and the polio efforts against this assault. Indicate your willingness to help. I just did. (hit the contact link on the bottom of the page).

http://www.modimes.org/

Then

Email Congress: Enter Your Zip Code http://congress.org/congressorg/home/

Here's mine:
As a medical epidemiologist who has worked on worldwide polio eradication in India, I am deeply offended at the current bill which seeks to replace the image of FDR on the US dime. While I have little problem with APPROPRIATE efforts to honor Ronald Reagan, this move would toss away the deep history behind the dime and the significant contributions made by Franklin Delano Roosevelt--both to polio and to the future of this country. I am appalled that the sponsors of this bill seem totally unaware (or uncaring) to the fact that the FDR dime acknowledges the deep strides made to control the scourge of polio as well as to honor those who suffered (and continue to suffer) from it. I beseech you to educate your fellow Senators and Representatives in Congress and to halt these efforts immediately. To her credit, even Mrs. Reagan has spoken out against this move. One does not honor Reagan by dishonoring Roosevelt. I leave you with my favorite quote in hopes that it might guide your decision: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" (George Santayana).

History matters. Please don't add to our collective National ignorance nor a trend of dishonoring those who helped to make our country what it is today.

{of course I didn't define what I thought would be APPROPRIATE efforts to honor Reagan--LOL}

16. HOLY SHIT!! This is a REAL proposal???!!!!
I've heard references on DU to conserbatives talking about this idiocy, but I didn't realize that it was an OFFICIAL attempt by real legislators to enact this abominable act of stupidity!!!!!

DAMN!!!!!!!!!

I really thought it was just a typically ignorant freeper idea, like "Shrub is a war hero" and "Shrub served valiantly during Vietnam" etc.

19. I think that's the most disgusting and unneccesary legislative BS
that's ever come down the pipeline, and I am almost willing to include the patriot act, the supreme court's decision to appoint a president, and letting the FCC give away our airwaves.
