Lez Zeppelin - all female Led Zeppelin tribute band
I just saw an ad for a show here with this band, described as the only all female Led Zeppelin tribute band, also described by Spin as "80% flawless and 99% awesome."

I thought our resident LZ fan Lynne might find this interesting - I don't know if she enjoys LZ tribute bands or not.

I love all-female bands, and I bet it would be interesting to see their interpretation of LZ songs.

1. Looks interesting enough,
But I hope that they checked with whoever is controlling the Led Zeppilin legal works these days. Lezzeppelin's avatar, fonts, etc are infringement close to the originals, and they might get sued over it.

2. I've already seen them in concert
my friend's sister drug us to a Led Zeppelin tribute concert at BBKings in NYC last August. It was Robert Plant's birthday and they had Lez Zeppelin and another LZ tribute band in concert there.

Mind you, I'd rather see the real thing and we were going because friend's sister's boyfriend (*GASP* you got all of that) was a big fan of the other band and would bootleg their concerts.

So we went, it was only $10 for the ticket and we even took my friend's 10 year old daughter to the show (LZ is her second favorite band behind the Doors).

Lez Zeppelin was actually very good. I mean, they did the songs and the guitar player had the moves down pat for Jimmy Page. But the way they did the songs they still put a bit of themselves into the music and I can say I really enjoyed that show. But the other band - ugh!! It was nothing more than overgrown men playing the shit out of their instruments & voices - they were just horrible. Led Zeppelin is NOT a metal band and yet that's pretty much how the last band sounded (absolutely ruined "Thank You").

3. although I am not a huge Zep fan,
it sounds like an interesting show. There are so few all female bands that I always like to support them.
