And my liberal Democrat daughter is marrying an ex-Navy guy. He was in the Navy when they met, since has left but most of their friends are Navy. And according to her, none of them support Bush and they all feel betrayed and hung out to dry, sent off on a clusterfuck of a mission.
Meanwhile, my other daughter is a complete Bushbot as is her husband. He is unemployed, with no prospects, mid-20's, perfectly healthy, supports the war (they both do) but stays home and lets my daughter support him* rather than put on a uniform and fight for what he allegedly believes in.
The juxtaposition just hit me today. I'd laugh if it wasn't so pathetic.
*I have nothing against a man staying home while the wife works but my daughter has always wanted nothing more than to be a stay-at-home mom and he has blown every opportunity for a decent job that he's gotten, leaving her no choice but to be the breadwinner. I'm glad she has because this way she'll be able to support her kids when she wakes up and ditches the loser.
