"chips, dips, chicks and pizzas" ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Comedy Central is showing "Weird Science," and in the scene where what's-her-name is meeting Anthony Michael Hall's parents, the line about "chips, dips, chains and whips" was changed to "chips, dips, chicks and pizzas." Someone just fucking shoot me.

5. Weird Science must be viewed in it's original theatrical release -
or else it isn't funny. If you are observant, you will notice that Anthony Michael Hall dubbed some of the "clean" lines after going fully through puberty.

Sounds weird.

"Do you feel like a chicken?"

"Hey, I'd shoot an egg out of my ass right now if I could."

7. My favorite censored line...
When "The Godfather" was aired on TV for the first time, Sonny Corleone's deathless line, "I don't want him comin' outta there with just his dick in his hand" was changed to "I don't want him comin' outta there with nothing but a stick in his hand."

8. TV makes the WEIRDEST censoring decisions sometimes
I was watching Trading Places on TV one time (don't ask why I'd watch it mutilated on TV when I own a copy, I must have been flipping channels and caught it for a moment) and they bleeped out Eddie Murphy saying Praise Jesus. They bleeped out the God in God-Damn, but not the damn. Weird-o-rama. I wonder if they bleep them out on the Sunday morning prayer shows, too?!!

There's a bit in one movie, can't remember which one, where Carrie Fisher uses the line about a rival, "Tall, blonde, big tits - your basic nightmare" and they changed it (badly) to "tall, blonde, big lungs - your basic nightmare." Now, besides not making any fucking sense at all, why couldn't they say breasts instead of lungs? LUNGS?! :wtf:

We are a nation led by the bowdlerizers. Our Attorney General puts drapes on statues, for cripessakes!

10. I have a friend who used to edit movies for television...
...according to the FCC, you can say "God", or you can say "Damn". But you cannot say "goddamn". Or, at least that's the way it was in the late 1990s.

Of course, after a certain hour, the South Park movie can be aired on regular cable with nary a bleep or edit, so maybe things have changed. A little.
