1. Oh yeah. I still have one somewhere.
Not the fastest implement ever, but it gets the job done.

4. I keep one on my key chain at all times...
They're easier than opening cans with a Buck Knife. I bought several dozen at Colonel Bubbies Army Surplus in Galveston a few years ago.

10. Hahahah....I remember those!
For opening those nasty C-Rations when you were out in the field. Actually, when you were really, really starving, C-Rations were good. When I was in the Army we actually had a class on how to use that thing.

12. I considered C-Rations gourmet eating
everything but them "Ham & Mutha Fuckers", that is. Mmm, Pall Mall cigarettes.

35. Call me crazy but I loved the fruit cocktail...
and the crackers and cheese spread was a good workout for the P-38, plus they were a nice time killer. I often suspected our cases were high-graded higher up because I always ended up with all the Ham & Muthas. RHIP.

36. Yep, it seemed the ham and mothers came in bunches...
I'm sure some of the supply guys had to have been going through them. The same applied to care packages from home. They regularly vanished.

2. dunno about that, but....
I think they use P-90's in the awesomely imaginary Stargate: SG-1 series

... dunno if that'll help at all

ok... I've used a P-38, but I'd be cooler if I could open cans with a P-90

I was at work and needed to make coffee there was a 3 lb can unopened of course and there were NO can openers. I remembered the one on my keyring. It took a minute but it worked perfectly.

11. You Ever Fall Asleep With a P-38 Hanging From Your Dog Tags?
And it opened up while you were asleep? I did that once and woke up with little cuts and punctures all over my chest and neck. That was the last time I did that!

to explain some "cat scratches" on his chest and back to his wife. It didn't work!

20. Well, I say that because...
The can opener on the Swiss Army Knife is very similar, but tons easier to use. That used to be all I'd use for a can opener.

Seriously, when I got this buck, it was a big deer with thick ribs, and the saw went right through them like butter.

99% of the time, I used it as a box cutter. Not sure what happened to it - I should get a new one.
