An injured wild rabbit is in my backyard.
My cat somehow produced a rabbit, and I brought the cat inside to keep it away, and the rabbit still jumped around a little, but is now just sitting there. The rabbit didn't seem afraid of me at all, in fact he moved closer to me when I sat down. I brought out some cat food and placed it near him but he hasn't eaten any. His head is moving back and forth a little similar to a tremor. And his eyes seem to be going back and forth a little. Is he just in shock or fatally injured?

1. If you can catch him, bring him to a rehabber or intake vet asap
Here's where to find your local wildlife rehabilitator: http://www.tc.umn.edu/~devo0028/contact.htm

This is my thread about what to do in wildlife emergencies: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=243x16486 Keeping injured animals warm and dark to reduce stress is important. Good luck!

3. Thanks... here's an update
He stopped shaking and was sitting calmly. I moved close to him and he ran across the yard. He is either hiding in a bush, or else he went down the canyon. I looked under several bushes and he is either hiding very, very well, or else he has left the property. If I can see him again, I'll call a rehabilitator. Thanks for the info.
