1. We're contemplating going for the "meadow look"...
I am sure the neighbors would love it! :)

2. I think
prairie grass would be a nice look, and low maintenance to boot. Wonder what my neighbors would think!

4. Get a rotary manual one!
They've really gotten more popular the last few years.

We've had ours since we bought our house in 2002, and when we see our neighbors out filling up theirs, we laugh all the way to the bank!

We have a weedeater for tough jobs in case the weeds get too tall.

12. Thanks!
He's a total mama's boy, and a helluva watch dog. Nothing gets NEAR our house without him knowing about it.

The only thing is? He HATES thunderstorms. He'll keep us up ALL night, pacing, panting, and giving us "The Pyr Paw."

9. Love our rotary
We dont' have a ton of grass so it makes no sense to have anything else. It'd be overkill to have a power mower. However If we had a rotary manual one growing up I'd have rebelled against my parents. Id' have had to use a rotary manual on about an acre and a half of grass which would have probably broken my mind when I was that age.

17. We used to use one, but got a power mower for our current place
We rent and our lawn is thick sod. I can put all my weight against it in our yard and it won't move at all. I did it a couple of times when I was in running shape and it was much more strenuous than a six mile run. Even with our power mower, we have to be careful not to take it too fast when it gets a little long or it quits on us.
I liked our previous lawn better. Mowing with the rotary mower wasn't it strenuous. It was more like pushing a shopping cart.

14. Go electric!

I did. Although my yard is a lot smaller than yours, you can get a long-ass extension cord. :D
