1. yes, I have
I generally look for things that are new or only worn a few times, and I tend to avoid getting into bidding wars.

If 9 people are actively bidding on a garment, the price tends to go higher than I usually want to bid.

I'm looking to get something for next to nothing.

10. YES, Pictures are EVERYTHING - I'm an Ebay Power seller

I only sell clothes. If you can, buy a mannequin (they sell them 2 for 1 on ebay, one black, one white for under $20) and use them to display your clothes. Make sure the lighting is good (or brighten the pic using a photo editor), use the photo editor to crop out the background and find a site to host the photo (I use image shack). I usually constrain the photo height to 800 pixels so buyers can see a big, clean and bright picture of the item. Here's some pics of some of the items that I'm selling:

Make sure you fit your garments to the mannequin by pinning the garment behind the upper back and/or waist (using clothes pins) to give the garment some shape and to keep the item from looking "dumpy" in appearance. Also iron or steam out any wrinkles in the fabric. People want to visualize what the item would look like on them so it's important that you fit and display your clothes on the mannequin properly.

You can find the mannequins here: http://cgi.ebay.com/Black-White-2-Mannequins-Insured-Box-maniquin-manikin_W0QQitemZ9314646075QQcategoryZ314QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Good luck!

On edit: The labels of your garments are equally important as the pictures because people tend to search for products according to the label. Make sure you put the brand name of your items in the description headings so your auctions will appear in a buyer's search.

2. I went through a phase of buying clothes on eBay.
I was very specific in what I was looking for. I typically centered my searches around particular labels. I looked for a high seller rating, a complete item description that included garment size as well as actual measurements, and good photos.

5. It may or may not hurt you.
I would usually buy from sellers who had high feedback ratings but low sales.

The two times I had problems was when dealing with sellers who had much higher sales numbers, and those subsequently diluted any poor ratings they had.

6. I do, but usually only vintage items.
I have bought non-vintage clothing on eBay before, though. I search by brand name, and then narrow my search by clothing type within the brand name. I look for things that are new or worn very few times and are in excellent condition. Sizing, measurements, and good clear pictures are a must.

8. I'm not sure I'd do that...
I'd break them up into smaller, more manageable lots, and get clear pictures of each item.

If a lot is too big, it's intimidating to the buyer, and they may not want to buy the whole kit and caboodle to get just a few things they may want.
