4. the wha...??
Geez, you must be older than dirt. My parents had a Rambler way back in the 50's and 60's.

7. My dad loved Ramblers
We had four of 'em, all told.

Witness:

(Very slowly)
Beep beep (beep beep) beep beep (beep beep)
His horn went beep beep beep (beep beep)
While riding in my Cadillac
What to my surprise
A little Nash Rambler was following me
About one-third my size
The guy musta wanted to pass me up
As he kept on tooting his horn (beep beep)
I'll show him that a Cadillac is not a car to scorn
Beep beep (beep beep) beep beep (beep beep)
His horn went beep beep beep (beep beep)

(Slowly)
I pushed my foot down to the floor
To give the guy the shake
But the little Nash Rambler stayed right behind
He still had on his brake
He musta thought his car had more guts
As he kept on tooting his horn (beep beep)
I'll show him that a Cadillac is not a car to scorn
Beep beep (beep beep) beep beep (beep beep)
His horn went beep beep beep (beep beep)

(Normal speed)
My car went into passing gear
And we took off with gust (whoosh)
Soon we were going ninety
Musta left him in the dust
When I peeked in the mirror of my car
I couldn't believe my eyes
The little Nash Rambler was right behind
You'd think that guy could fly
Beep beep (beep beep) beep beep (beep beep)
His horn went beep beep beep (beep beep)

(Quickly)
Now we're doing a hundred and ten
This certainly was a race
For a Rambler to pass a Caddy
Would be a big disgrace
The guy musta wanted to pass me up
As he kept on tooting his horn (beep beep)
I'll show him that a Cadillac is not a car to scorn
Beep beep (beep beep) beep beep (beep beep)
His horn went beep beep beep (beep beep)

(Very quickly)
Now we're going a hundred twenty
As fast as I can go
The Rambler pulled along side of me
As if we were going slow
The fella rolled down his window
And yelled for me to hear
"Hey, buddy, how do I get this car out of second gear?" (beep beep beep beep beepbeepbeepbeepbeep)

I think this commercial was probably based on that song.

Hold me. :scared:

6. I have no clue.
I stopped listening to local news. Mostly because I was getting tired of real news being substituted by "Favre-watch" stories. :hi:

10. You have no idea how much I hate that thing.
NO idea. If it comes on when I'm drunk, I'll launch into a tirade that could go on for...well I don't know how long because people usually shut me up about it, but I'd guess at least 20 minutes.
I hate everything about it, and the more I hear it, the more I notice in it which just makes it worse.

It sounds like a sophomore at a community college was standing outside of a GNC at the mall with a clip-board and that's how they recruited the "talent" for the little jingle. (I picture a couple of He-Man look-alikes in cut off mesh t shirts and grey sweat-shorts singing it and pumping their fists in time to the beat when they do it. Especially at the "wooo!" part.) Then, since he/she was in a rush, said student opened his/her "Commercial Production 101" text to chapter 2: "Repetition works! Repetition Works!" and just employed that principle until he/she had the thing done.

There's a sequel, too, that's less annoying but just as lame.

13. Annoying and lame.
And sadly, effective. If someone asked you "where would I go to shop for cars on-line?" you'd probably have an answer... and then a total meltdown. :)
