Poll question: Who all here does Renaissance Faires regularly?
I'm just curious, and just to mention I'm just getting started in it.

1. Used to when my kids were the right age (c. 8-14)
And we've still got all the wooden swords and shields kicking round the house to prove it.

It was fun the first few years, but if you've seen one ersatz Queen Elizabeth I making bawdy comments, you've seen them all. So when the kids reached the been there/done that point, I breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Well, I'm just as glad not to have to do that any more."

Maybe if it hadn't been for the hour-and-a-half drive each way on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, I could have kept up my enthusiasm better.

3. My stepmom and sister go all the time,
but they dress up in princess costumes. Personally, if I were ever to attend one of these, I wouldn't bathe for a week and then dress like an old hunchbacked crone. That would be more accurate.
