1. I missed seeing him by just days
He was scheduled to play at Seattle's Bumbershoot Festival, and just a day or so before, was hospitalized. Dr. John put together a replacement lineup (cannot remember the drummer, which is a function of my advancing years) and the show went on...

He died a few days later. :cry:

3. oh - the Bluesiana Triangle tour
That record broke me up every time I heard it after Art passed. He actually sings a song on it - For All We Know. Still makes me cry.

David Fathead Newman was in that group too.

Very sad never to have caught him. He is nearly always in my choices of top 5 best all-time drummers. Brilliant. That picture is awesome too.
