18. It's still the offensive line, trumad
I could rattle off the names, but what's the point? They are all unathletic and inexplosive blobs. I've been saying for years that Tim Ruddy is the regulator. A team that accepts a mediocrity like him at center will go nowhere. We need widespread and dramatic changes up front, not one or two reluctant additions.

Also, a QB with something in his reportoire other than mindless line drives would be nice.

8. At this point, looks very likely
I would still go with the Eagles in the NFC, but the Rams would be second right now.

Perhaps as early as the Saints pregame 2 weeks ago.

But he did say it.

10. This was an outrage
I really thought Miami had a shot today. In the end, I guess I overestimated the importance of that Dallas victory. The Cowboys are a decent team, but nowhere near as good as New England. We saw that when the Dallas got shut out by the Pats earlier this year.

Even though we got beat, it doesn't hurt as much as the loss in October. I really think had the Dolphins won the Colts and New England games that we'd be going places in the playoffs. Now a first round exit in January is the best case scenario.

12. The Pats are a monstrous defensive team
with a quarterback who wants to be Joe Montana when he grows up.

This is the fans in two-feet-under-snow Foxboro flinging the white stuff in celebration after Bruschi intercepted that pass for a TD.

14. Congratulations honey
I don't feel so bad now about my Cowboys losing to the Pats. No shame in losing to the AFC East Champs. :-)

Speaking of which...you still haven't figured out who you want me to donate for to settle our bet. *poke poke*

19. History is very much against another Super Bowl win this year
An NFL team one year removed from being dethroned as champions has almost no chance to regain the title, based on 80+ years of results. It is a MUCH WORSE scenario than defending champs.

Only a George Halas Bears team in the early '40s and Switzers' Cowboys in '95 have managed to recapture the title one year after losing it. It never happened in the AFL.

In fact, since the inception of the Super Bowl, those teams invariably miss the playoffs completely or flop once they get there. There are literally only a handful of playoff victories, less than 10.

Actually, recent years have been kinder to the teams in that situation. The 2001 Rams, champs in '99, are the only team other than the '95 Cowboys to advance to the Super Bowl one year after losing their title. Those '01 Rams were denied by New England, of course.

24. That game was awesome!!!! The hitting and the snowshowers
Just incredible. Easily the funnest 12-0 game I have ever seen. Brock Marion, Zach Thomas, and the Patss too were flying all over the field and laying wood on the other side. Man I loved watching that game and I knew Kevin Faulk was OUT when Marion hit him.

Announcer:"The good news is that Kevin Faulk walked off the field on his own power...the bad news is that Kevin Faulk thinks he is Marshall Faulk right now."

Awesome!! Good for the Pats.

29. I admit it; I'm a playoffs fan only
I don't like football so I only get interested in the Pats come playoffs time.

Congrats to the "true" fans. And kudos to those who braved the elements in Foxborough yesterday.
