Etiquette Question about the phone...
An elderly guy contacted me a couple of days ago, via email, to tell me that he has a mound site on his property he wants me to look at. He included his phone number in the email, so I called him Friday, and we agreed to try to get together today to go look at the site.

He said he had a business meeting Sunday morning, but to call him Sunday afternoon, and we'd ride out to the site.

So I called him at about 2:30, and didn't get an answer. Here's the question:

Should I keep trying to phone him? Should I email him back and tell him I tried to phone him and missed him, and offer to go another day? Should I call another day?

I know he wants me to look at the site--he was very emphatic about that.

Maybe the business meeting ran long--he's a very busy man, that I know.

Here in the deep south it will be dark by 5:30, so I only have two hours of daylight left. I think today is shot. Best try for another day.

What do you guys think?

I usually just know what to do, but with this guy I want handle it ultra-correctly.

1. Did you leave a message? Did he have an answer machine?

If you left a message, follow up with am email but don't call again. If there was not an answer machine, call again.

2. No answering machine, but he does have caller ID
Thought about emailing him, because I know he has caller ID and will see that I called twice this afternoon.
