when they see something they like...

I can feel my eyes becoming two black marbles as I peruse that site! Totally addictive...it's puppy porn!

6. Sweety, you should have seen the cream Chows we raised...
We had one pair that bred nothing but whites with good dark noses and mouths and perfect triangular eyes. When they were babies they looked like fat snow white seal pups.

13. we knew each other in a past life, I am sure of it.
my great great grandma and my great grandma bred Chows for many years. Raised all the dogs in the house. I still remember the sire- Thor. A big cinnamon beast that would love anyone into submission. My first dog was a pup from my Mamaw- a cinnamon boy that I named John. (after my new step-grandpa, I thought it was an honor!) I loved that dog so much. he would let me ride on his back (I was about 4 when we got him) and played matador with me and 'his' blanket.

My first real heartbreak in life was when he broke his back playing with my mom, accidentaly paralyzing him from mid-back down. He passed a few days later when we had to put him to sleep. I was 8 years old.

thank you for reminding me of him, he was the love of my life back then.

15. One of my first baby sitters was a red Chow named Rusty...
He'd go hunting every night and leave a cottontail on the porch for us. If baby Sister got too close to the road he'd stand in front of her or grab her by her britches and sit her down. One of our favorite games was feeding him ice or bubble gum.
I raised my own kids with Chows, too. :-)
