WTF? I get the whole quarter thing, but is every nickel going to have an added US territory?

1. Part of the Lewis & Clark bicentennial series
First was the Lousiana Purchase nickel in 2003, then the following year they did the keel boat L & C used to leave St. Louis to head up river, in 2004, the bicentennial of their westward exploration.

Now, with the return journey's bicentennial here, they had a "buffalo" nickel last year, and this year, the return of the Monticello on the back of the nickel (where it had been from 1938 until 2003) and the Rembrandt Peale portrait of Jefferson, the first time an American coin likeness has looked directly at you. (The Sacajawea dollar has her looking over her shoulder, not quite the same effect)

4. I think so
The side profile Jefferson from 1938-2002 has been retired for now. The Rembrandt one could be permanent. It is supposed to reflect the 'forward-looking' spirit of America or some such, after the Lewis & Clark expedition...
