his karate instructor had nothing to do with it.

Fundie logic 1001 that is.

12. That is the best White gospel LP of all time- no kidding.
That record kicks ass- intense imagery and soaring harmonies- very Byrdsy.

featuring hot licks from Chet Atkins too...

33. Charlie & Ira Louvin designed the cover.
They made the cardboard Satan & set up the rocks. The rocks contained moisture & began exploding when the fires were lit. However, the shoot ended before anyone was killed.

The Louvins played secular music as well as sacred. And they sang the sacred music with the special fervor of those who KNOW they are in serious risk of going to Hell. Especially the late Ira; that's him with the mandolin:

Gram Parsons was a big fan. So is Emmylou.

14. Somewhere I have a video tape of "Satan has been paralyzed" sung by
"Captian Hook's Christian Pirate Puppets" and it's just about the funniest thing I've ever seen. Ever. The good puppets sing the song and beat up a satan puppet at lines like "The devil he's a loser. Ignoring every fact. But when Jesus knocked his teeth out, all he can say is meow" or however that line goes. Then, during the chorus of "parrr-a-lyzed, parr-a-lyzed, satan lost the battle, Jesus won the fight" there's an illustration on the screen of a (literally) paralyzed devil, sitting in a wheelchair, covered in bandages, and looking afraid of something.
It's horrible and hilarious. It's hor-larious!

I've looked for something about this on the internet to show you guys, but I can't find anything decent yet. I'll keep looking though. It's got to be out there somewhere.

that is Captain Hook, Sharkey (his sidekick puppet), and his crew of Christian Pirate Puppets, but it will have to do.

They all look exactly alike. I'm convinced that if the youngest son and the daughter wore the exact same dress, they'd look like the evil twins from The Shining.

22. Fundies have no fashion sense
And a strong need for uniformity. Hence families where all of the boys dress in identical pants, button-up shirts, ties (and possibly vests or jackets), and the girls wear matching dresses (typically hand made by mummy or one of the older daughters). :scared:

Even when they aren't a family the groups all dress alike, as if individuality would bring down the wrath of god or something.

27. Aye. But they have enough in common that one, correct
logical sequence would cut a lot of ground out from underneath them.

I've been talking a lot to the local evangelicals..... Now that I have invulneralbe grounds for atheism, it's a walk in the park. I'm bust working out how each thinks. Then I'll find the common pattern. Then, dear Buffy, it may be the start of a real atheist conspiracy! O.K. all it really is is working out how to ask first evangelicals then fundies to be nice to the minorities in their own terms, but it seems a worthwhile project to me.

28. Slightly off-topic, but still funny
Okay, so there's a family at my dojo (karate school) there's a family that's been born again like seven or eight times. I remember once at a karate tournament, their daughter (most likely gay...unfortunately, for her) making a comment that she never heard of my "secular" music. They were very impressed though that I was listening to "Hey Jesus" by the Indigo Girls (lesbian duo).

I just hope that one day she feels comfortable enough to come out.
