Lawn ornament collection leaves homeowner puzzled

It was a shocking crime scene. Bodies were everyplace.

A ceramic chipmunk here. A cement skunk there. Rabbits and frogs strewn everywhere.

It was all a bit overwhelming for the drowsy South Covington man who awoke to it Sunday. There, on his previously uninhabited lawn, a sudden scattering of lawn ornament carnage from parts unknown.

In all, Covington police recovered 21 lifeless lawn figurines from the yard on Blue Ridge Drive. Nobody - including the home's residents - has any idea how the outdoor knick-knacks got there.
