Poll question: If you knew how to end your life painlessly and neatly, would you do it?
Like in that one infamous book that will undoubtedly be banned in the next few months?

3. I DO know how to, and I would if there were good reason.
'Good reason', in this case, being diagnosis of terminal illness such as cancer, or the early onset of Alzheimer's disease.

4. Wd be nice to have efficient means available if existence were to become
untenable some years down the road, during some environmental disaster or sustained global collapse. Or even during a sustained period of unbearable pain caused by illness or other circumstance.

But for now things are still extremely interesting and I find a lot of joy and beauty in life. In spite of all my bitching and whining to the contrary, I'm extremely fortunate and I have a lot of fun.

10. I presume either "Final Exit" by Derek Humphrey,

...or "Suicide and Attempted Suicide" by Geo Stone. The two premier books on suicide methodology.

8. Not now, NO......I would not.
I'm in good health, I'm happy in love, and my life has meaning, for me...

Now, of course, all that could change in a heartbeat.

And someday I will hopefully be really old and really ill....THEN I might consider taking my own life.

But not now......

BTW, I do have the book "Final Exit." Is that the book you're referring to?

9. Know what I have to do if I have to, but not planning on it any time soon.
There's no such thing as an entirely neat death, but as neatly as possible, yeah.

11. There's no such thing as 'painless' and 'neat'
It always leaves behind a mess and heartache and confusion and pain for someone.

Plus, that's the only sure way things absolutely can't improve. It's irrevocable. You can't decide you don't like it and take it back.

12. I think it should be a right for the terminally ill.

As far as I know I'm not terminally ill, so not yet.

I've been going through a lot of physical pain lately and have been very suicidal in times past, but I am NOT ready to die. I live for music and nature and until things get really nasty for me, I intend to enjoy the hell out of whatever life I can eke out of this sick body.

No Hurry to Die

We all want to die with dignity
But not before it's time

Don't wanna end up on somebody's plate
Don't wanna be what a cannibal ate
I wanna live to a hundred and eight
I'm in no hurry to die

I'm in no hurry to fall over dead
I'd rather fall over laughing instead
I have a whole lot of living ahead
I'm in no hurry to die

Don't wanna drown or be killed by a gun or alligator
Don't wanna crash in plane or a train or die of thirst
I know that all people have to die sooner or later
And that is fine with me just as long as I am not first

Don't wanna end up on somebody's plate
Don't wanna be what a cannibal ate
I wanna live to a hundred and eight
I'm in no hurry to die

I'm in no hurry to fall over dead
I'd rather fall over laughing instead
I have a whole lot of living ahead
I'm in no hurry to die

Don't wanna strangle or starve or be bit by a black widow
Don't wanna smother or die by s'm'other catastrophe
I guess we all have to face the fact that dying is normal
But it would be just fine if it never happened to me

Don't wanna end up on somebody's plate
Don't wanna be what a cannibal ate
I wanna live to a hundred and eight
I'm in no hurry to die

I'm in no hurry to fall over dead
I'd rather fall over laughing instead
I have a whole lot of living ahead
I'm in no hurry to die

I'm in no hurry to die

I'm in NO HURRY!!!

I'M IN NO HURRY TO DIE!!!!!!
