Say you have milk that expires in three days. Can you freeze it for two weeks, thaw it out, and it won't be spoiled?

That would be great. :)

1. I have done it with milk before, but it has to be cardboard containers...
no plastic containers because they will expand and crack. Otherwise, yes...keep it frozen and it will last a VERY long time

2. If the jug isnt' full, it shouldn't crack.
I use them as ice blocks for fishing trips. You can fill them about 4/5 and freeze them.

3. I can't believe it took me so long to figure this out.
I assume that it is okay in plastic as long as it does not crack.

Thanks, TK421. :)

6. It's what us poor folks do to survive on a shitty salary....hope it helps
My grandmother was VERY frugal about things like that...and she used to keep a bunch of it in a freezer in the basement. Perhaps they would be fine in plastic ( I had a bad experience once when I stocked up on food because of an impending blizzard ).

healthy.

We freeze milk all the time. The cardboard containers will bulge a little bit and if doing this with milk in plastic bottles, you do have to remove a couple of cups per gallon (put in another plastic container) or the container can rupture.

Also, remember to put the container on something flat (a dinner plate?) and put a couple of dish towels between the plate and the defrosting container. They can "sweat" something awful and they still have "bowled" sides.

We learned all this from experience. We travel a good deal and always have something that has to be frozen or defrosted. Don't know how my grandparents lived without refrigerators! (My grandfather sold butter, eggs and cheese and those used to get put in the "ice box"!)
