Why is it that it seems every Country Music station has an Animal Name?

1. Same reason rock stations have names
like The Rock and The Bone and The Tendon and The Cartilege, and sports-talk stations have names like The Dog and The Dog and The Dog.

Somebody in marketing had the bright idea that listeners don't "get" call letters and frequencies anymore. :shrug:

2. Well, there is a rock station named after a fruit...
105.7 WAPL "The Rockin' Apple"

Good station, actually, won Rolling Stone's Station of the year a couple times back in the 90s.
