This is the best. I can watch it over and over and still find
new things to laugh at and appreciate it. It has made me a lifelong
Jeff Bridges fan.

1. No, Fargo is the best.
But Lebowski is great, too.

I quite like The Hudsucker Proxy, but I don't know anyone else who likes it enough to re-watch it.

9. I love "Hudsucker" and watch it every time it's on.
Still, my favorite is "Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou?"

2. "The Man Who Wasn't There" was very good. Fargo is overrated, IMHO.

3. I'm also partial to Fargo
But loved Lebowski almost as well. I need to get caught up on some of their later works.

11. You're out of your element!
Donny: What the fuck is he talking about?

The Dude: My rug.

Walter: Forget it, Donny, you're out of your element!

The Dude: Walter, the chinaman who peed on my rug, I can't go give him a bill, so what the fuck are you talking about?

Walter: What the fuck are you talking about? The chinaman is not the issue here, dude. I'm talking about drawing a line in the sand, dude. Across this line, you DO NOT... Also, dude, chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian-American, please.

The Dude: Jeez, Walter, I'm not talking about the guys who built the fucking railroad here.

13. Shut the fuck up, Donny!
The Big L is the definitive saga of the alternate Baby Boomer - aging stoners, retired hippies, fucked up Nam vet, etc.

12. According to this poll in the Entertainment forum, it is not.
O Brother, Where Art Thou? is winning.

Fuck that shit. First the Dude gets his rug pissed on, then he loses the money, and now this. Am I wrong? Am I wrong? Let's go bowling.

23. Definitely give it another try...
I've seen it maybe 4 times and every time I see it, it gets better.

For instance, Philip Seymour Hoffman, as the rich Lebowski's yes man was absolutely perfect.

17. Isn't this thread really a tribute to how good the Coen brothers are?
Seriously, you could make a case for any number of their movies. Bloodsimple, The Man Who Wasn't There, The Big Lebowski, Fargo, O Brother Where Art Thou?... How is it possible that these guys might actually be underrated?

"Blood Simple"
"O Brother Where Art Thou?"
"Hudsucker Proxy"
"Raising Arizona"
"Fargo"

...all better in my opinion.

It's one of my Coen Bros. favorites. Impossible to say which is my #1, because it depends on what I'm looking for at a particular time.

I've watched it several times, hoping I would finally get it, but I just find it tedious, which is tragic for a Cohen Brothers film.
