Good Wednesday Morning, Crew!

:donut::hi:
Welcome to another "Hump Day" edition of the Early Morning Crew! :bounce: I hope you've had a good week so far! I missed many of you yesterday because I had to be to work at an ungodly 6 am. I'm sorry about that, but at least it's only one day a week.

I am off work so I don't have to go rushing off anywhere today, but I DO have to go do laundry at some point. You know how that is. I hate it too because it takes so much time away from my day off. x(

Reminder: If you haven't created a journal up to this point and do so later, let me know because I want to put a link to it in my Blogroll in MY journal!

I am thinking about putting together a monthly Early Morning Crew Newsletter! :bounce: It would have all kinds of information in it including crew member Milestones, funniest quote of the month, information about upcoming events, etc! I think the way I would work it is find a website I could post it to, then send each of you the link in a private message! Would you be interested in such a thing? Let me know! I think it would be fun to do and have!

So, let's get this day going!

13. Hi tj!
Sometimes they are fun...sometimes not as much. It depends on the kids. These are second graders so it can go either way. I'd rather be sitting here in my bathrobe, but I do enjoy spending time with my son and seeing what he's up to. I'll sign you up for next time. ;)

I'm guessing that second grade is fairly young, and thus still fairly amusing.

20. I'm just wondering what it says about me
That a man 5 time-zones behind gets up before I do....:eyes:

The only times I've seen that early has been catching flights, when I'm still up from the night before, and May Day when I was at university (local tradition involved students swimming the in sea at dawn, obviously I never went in the sea but did go to laugh at/cheer on friends a couple of times).

24. LOL! It doesn't say anything BAD about you!
I just have this thing about being up at LEAST three hours before I have to be to work. Since I had to be there at 6...that means I get up at 3 am. Trust me...when I got home, I took a nice long nap...which meant I couldn't get to sleep when I really wanted to last night and tossed and turned most of the night. I was happy when 5 am rolled around so I could get out of that stupid bed!

I'm never up 3 hours before work.

I take half an hour to shower and dress, about half an hour to walk to work...so one hour total.

Well...I guess there probably would...but not in its current incarnation.

86. Morning MissH
Sometimes I think it's nice to be at work alone. That's why I go in so early, no one bothers me, at least for a while.

Heard The Kirov Orchestra Monday night. Got free tickets, can you believe that! They played Tchaikovsky and Shostakovitch. Just wowed everyone including me.

93. Free tickets to a concert???
Edited on Wed Mar-22-06 07:29 AM by MissHoneychurch
that is great. Classical music is just great. And Tchaikovsky wrote beutiful pieces.

In my old job I worked in an One-Person-Library. That was too quiet for me, esp. since half of the year there were no customers. It is perfect for me here. I have nice co-workers, my boss is cool, we have customers but they aren't over running us. But I have to admit I loved working in the public library in Savannah and to have the contact with the customers. I only don't want to work with children. I love to help the people find the informations they need. It gives me opportunity to learn with them.

Yea, the free tickets were great, and excellent seats too. Couldn't have been a better way to spend a Monday night.

It is cool that you patronize some. Libraries need all the support they can get.

When I was a nanny my guest mom played the flute in the Charlotte Orchestra. That way I could come to performances and dress rehearsals. Loved it. So much classical music and operas for free. :bounce:

I've been sleeping a little better this week.

I'll have repairmen in my house again today. x(
The chimney pipe for my new stove was removed yesterday. It had a creosote build up which requires a chemical cleaning.
Then later this week the furnace repairman will be back on Friday to check a repair he completed last week.
The dog doesn't even bark at these guys anymore.

27. Good morning Clint!
I had an interesting shift. I came on duty to find that two people had been doing cocaine so I had to collect cups of pee for tox-screens. x( In the meantime a firetruck and several police cruisers came barreling down into the neighborhood and were camped out in between my base house and one of the other houses in my program for a half-hour or so. Then I find out that one of the clients who moved out of the program a few weeks back is returning tomorrow because once he left he went off all of his psychiatric meds (probably started using recreational pharmaceuticals as well) and completely decompensated, and lost both his job and apartment. Needless to say it will take a good deal of time and support to get him stabilized again. But then, that's what they pay us the "big bucks" for.

As for my journal, it's up and running as of yesterday or the day before. Just click on the little link on my post.

I hate all nighters myself. If you can't get at least three hours sleep, it's best to stay up. That's the rule I think. So if you don't think you can get to sleep in an hour...

Time flies by when you're having fun doing stuff like that doesn't it? Especially reading.

I can sit down to write and next thing I know I killed 6 hours. It goes by like nothing.

Usually if I can't get about two, I'll just stay up. Either way that sucks though. I have to sleep a little, because I have a later class until about 5, so I'll be dead tired if I don't get a few Z's.

I'm a life-long terrible insomniac. Been cursed with it forever. Only thing that works is a good schedule, which I frequently get off of, lol. :)

Clintmax, What a great idea! I think an Early Morning Crew Newsletter would be a lot of fun. It would give us yet another option for staying in touch on those days when other commitments require we tear ourselves away from the computer much too soon.

I've always said every apartment/duplex/house/or other structure for living should be required to have washer and dryer hook ups. Wouldn't that make our lives so much easier??

Be good to each other and remember we are all in this political nightmare together.

Of course try to win one more poor lost soul over from the dark side of neocon politics today.

Doing one load at a time is an ALL DAY affair. Going to the laundromat, I can use as many washers as I need at once, and then dry everything at the same time. 2 1/2 hours work instead of all day.

Yeah I know how it goes with the laundry, but it's gotta be done, otherwise people look at you funny when you walk past.......

I'm doing fine - the press here is full of the aftermath of the cyclone we had up north on Monday, and the one lurking off the coast. It pretty much destroyed two towns and did a lot of damage to banana and sugar crops, but fortunately no-one was killed. It came ashore about 1000 miles north of Brisbane, so it didn't affect us here in the big smoke. But the price of bananas tripled overnight !!

And are they going to have to have Microsoft Publisher to view it? That's something I'm going to have to figure out.

Changes seem to happen all at once every time with me too! I HATE moving...it's such a pain in the ass. Good luck with the job! I hope you got it! :bounce:

122. Good morning, Clintmax!
:donut: :hi:

Nice picture! And I like the idea of a monthly newsletter. :bounce: Couldn't you put it in your journal? I've seen people put all sorts of stuff in those (mine's SO boring at this point).

Anyway, it's good to see you.

124. Morning, Miss Airmens!
:hi::hug::bounce:
I'm SO happy to see you today, my dear! I heard you weren't feeling well...I hope you're doing better now!

I thought of putting it in my Journal...but I'm not sure if anyone ever looks at it. If I posted it to a Blog and sent everyone a link, they could look at it when ever they had time. I don't know...I'll have to think more about how would be best to distribute it.

I'm glad you like the picture! I think it's the perfect Early Morning Crew logo!

127. Yes, I'm a little better.
Thanks. It's down to a dull ache now. And I'm pretty slow this morning -- usually my fingers fly on this keyboard, but I can barely find the keys today. harleydad let people know yesterday that I was sick. All the nice get-well responses helped. He came into the bedroom every few minute to tell me about them. :loveya: He had to use the alert button a few times. I guess "Name removed" doesn't know what a get-well thread is for.

I think however you do it would be great and people would look at it.

I'm not on your blogroll -- see, even you think my journal is boring.

Yes, the picture is a perfect logo! :bounce:

130. Hmmm...did you just create it or something?
I went through and added everyone...I thought...

I'll go fix that right this second! I'm glad you're feeling a little better, my dear!

131. No, I don't remember when I did it.
Maybe last Thursday or so? But it's the dullest one out there.

Thanks. It's good to see you. A few days, I JUST missed you -- got here in time to see you post your "I'm outta here" message. :(

I'm still waiting for a car-washing date in Boca. This weather won't hold forever, you know.

133. I added it in!
The first time I tried to add it just now...it said there WAS no such journal out there. Then, I discovered I had inserted an apostrophe: Airmen'sMom...that didn't belong. I'm glad I got it right now and it's in there!

137. I'm so used to the olden days
when we couldn't use special characters or spaces in filenames. So I automatically assumed I had to scrunch everything up for my username. (Am I dating myself?)

I added you, too -- having just realized last night what that was for. :silly: Maybe when I feel better, I'll play with it more. Looks like a lot of people are having fun with it. Hey, maybe I'll even put a profile pic in there ... but don't hold your breath waiting.

We're having a dry spell with the house. Yesterday we had our first showing in 10 days. It figures that someone would come when I'm sick. The good news is that we have a ball-park estimate on our new house and we're pleasantly surprised. I'm liking this builder a whole lot more than the one who dumped us.

Hey -- I just looked at your journal and saw your Tony pics thread. HOW did I miss that? They're great! What a handsome boy! :bounce:

140. I don't know WHY I was adding that apostrophe...
Silly me! :silly: I'm glad you're liking the new contractor! Sounds like he is MUCH better than the old one. I'm glad you saw the Tony pictures! I need to add some more! I'm off to go get some things done now, so you take care and I hope you get an offer (OVER the asking price) from the people who saw your house yesterday! :bounce::hug:

143. Um, 'cause it would be the right way to spell it?
 Lots of people make the same mistake -- my fault, not yours, for making it confusing.

Thanks. I don't think yesterday's people liked the house or we would have heard by now. But someone, someday ...

Have a nice day off! :loveya::hi:

145. "hump day"? Who's humping? And mind if I jump on in?
The Morning Crew, that is... One day I'm sure I'll get to hump, but the morning crew sounds like more fun! :D
