3. okay, not my last post, I LOVE HIM!
and to see Constantine and Chris on the same night? holy shit. I need a cold shower and new undies.

Chris is a better singer, by far. He is amazing, simply amazing. I think you can hear him if you get on the AI site...not sure though.

17. Wasn't Constantine so cute in his glasses?
:loveya:

I love Chris too, and I hate Ace. Ace is trying so hard to be like Constantine.. "the look", the hair, the clothes. Not gonna fly with me.

19. I see Ace and Constantine as different
Edited on Sun Mar-26-06 08:02 PM by mvd
Ace is more of a falsetto singer and not really a rocker. I like Ace more, but to each his/her own. :hi:

2. I don't watch it usually, but Mr. SG called my attention to
this guy, and I have to say, I was very impressed by his rendition of I Walk the Line tonight.

6. Copped out, he did.
It was a 50s theme, not a 21st-century-rocker-version of the 50s theme.

Katharine McPhee... Now, SHE had the whole package going on. :wow: Paid attention to the theme, too, she did!

7. I love that he makes the songs modern.
50's theme only means that the song must have been produced in the 50's, not that it must be performed that way. I think everyone sounds too much like kareoke. I like Kat, my top four are:

chris
taylor
katharine
mandisa

but only chris and taylor are unique and interesting in the competition. everyone else just keeps on doing ballads. I am sick of them!

I also really like Elliot and Paris.

But, my fave, as always, is TAYLOR HICKS. Not the best singer, but I want him to move in with me. Immediately.

Simon Cowell said on Larry King that Taylor Hicks, Chris Daughtry, and Kellie Pickler are three favorites to win American Idol.

9. I pick Chris and Mandisa to be the finalists
Kelli Pickler iritates me with the stupid act. But I'd like to hear her sing some Hank Williams songs. Maybe Lost Highway...

Bucky and Taylor were the two worst performances. I attribute that to the fact that the songs they picked were just not challenging. Very simple pop songs by one of the very first pop stars.

And the little kid with the glasses should not be there. Grannies should not be allowed to vote...

Oh, and I loved Paris' version of Fever.

but I can think of naughty things to do to Taylor.

The bonus is that w/ his grey hair he will make me look younger than him!

16. I just heard that Chris's rendition of "Walk The Line" was based on..

the band Live's version. Therefore adding to my concerns about his originality. But he can definitely sing, and he's been the best male the last two weeks.

I think it will be Bucky or Lisa to go next (I'd like Bucky to stay.) I think Kellie Pickler will surprise people with how far she gets. But I still give the edge to Carrie Underwood in terms of singing.

21. One Trick Pony
and boring to boot. Radio is already crowded with Scott Stapp clones. It wouldn't be so bad if his vocals weren't so bland and generic. And really his vocal chops aren't that great from what he's shown us so far.

For me it's all about Taylor, Mandisa, and Elliot. Hell, I even admittedly have a soft spot for Bucky. :)

And Constantine is just gross. Soap isn't a four-lettered word.

he did sound like a Scott Stapp clone at first. But I don't believe Stapp would have done as well the last couple weeks. Chris has shown he can sing without over-emoting IMO. Whether Chris stands out at radio remains to be seen. He certainly has his own comfort zone.
