My Son will be 16 in 2 days
I have decided, since money is a bit scarce, to give him my Epiphone Les Paul. He already plays it better than I ever did.

But the acoustic is still mine. :-)

We went and got his passport Monday. They suggested I come back after his birthday since he can only get a 5 year now and can get a 10 year when he is 16.

I told them I planned on him emigrating in a few years so it wouldn't matter. Yes, I know he will still be a US citizen for a while but I still had to say it. They didn't ask the follow-up, WHY, so I didn't get to tell them the reason. That I will not sacrifice my children to serve this illegal regime.

My son is a big man. 6 foot 2 and the passport guy kept asking, do you play football. No. Do you play basketball. No.

I said he plays the guitar and that is good enough for me.

He is going to France and Switzerland this summer to visit my in-laws and study the intricacies of Thrash Metal with his Swiss uncle Olivier. :-)

I think my children are going to turn out OK. I just hope we can give them a country to live in.

4. If only all parents were as responsible as you,
making sure your sons get out of this ignorance-worshiping war-mongering shithole before the republicans camp him off to die.

Good for you!

And very good of you not to require that he play sports but to enjoy and create the more important and eloquent life-fulfilling art of music.
