3. Yep. I don't even bother making an effort to see it on Sunday anymore

The show started declining irreversably when they made Homer an unlikeable vs. likeable selfish boob with severe anger-management issues and turned Flanders into a bitter fundamentalist crank.

I watched two recent reruns and the shows were just humorless commercials for political causes. Granted, if they were well written political commericals it would have been one thing but they didn't even have that going for them.

In the end, I guess Groening is willing to keep taking the money FOX offers without caring that his show is a very pale shadow of its former self.

7. I think that it is much better then the first few seasons
It may have jumped the shark, but it is still in the top ten of all shows on tv right now.

13. I don't watch much tv either
24 and American Idol, that's about it. The Simpson went bad in the 6th season and never recovered. I dislike it now as much as I used to like it. I bought the first 5 seasons on DVD and I'll use them to remind myself of a show that was once one of the funniest shows ever put on tv.

4. Excellent
Nice to see that one of my favorite shows will be on the air for awhile. Too bad I can't say the same for The West Wing.

6. How many more episodes can they make?
I'm a big Simpsons fan and I've been pondering this question for a long time!

8. My guess is that as long as the cast stays intact.
I think that if any of the cast leaves, it just won't be the same. We've become so used to the actors playing the characters that the show just wouldn't be the same if even one of them left.

10. I thought you meant
their contract with the White House, and "simpies" was a euphemism for "simpletons."

Seriesly.

11. A pale shadow of its former self
Still watchable but not like it used to be. This was the one show we always watched as a family. Sunday evening at 7:55 "SIMPSONS" would be yelled around the house and we would all run to the sofa just like in the opening sequence. When the reruns were on at 5 I would be home in time to watch with my kids while I made supper.

12. I gave up on the Simpson's...
After the death of Maude Flanders. No real reason behind it other than ratings.

Things with the Simpson's haven't been good for many many years. The few times that I did see it was a "HUH?" reaction. Sure, there may have been a few chuckles, but not really much on the laughs.
