Quick! Name some bands!
I'm making a CD for a fishing trip tomorrow and am drawing total blanks as to what I want to put on it.

29. I need to know.
matcom has proposed marriage to me. And although he's merely doing it to get his grasping paws on my considerable wealth, he's worth every Rembrandt and island I own.

9. Will you be driving along any shoreline?
Astrud Gilberto fits that scenario perfectly, especially when the weather's like it was today. Bonus points if it's in a convertible and you're wearing big sunglasses and a scarf.

I am SO glad it's finally spring.

21. I love that picture of Harper
If there's any picture out there that shows what a massive weiner that guy is, it's that one...

I put on the original Devo Jocko Homo/Mongoloid single released on the show tonight; I always thought both versions were better than the "Are We Not Men?" versions...

22. Harper confuses being one with having one.
Are those versions from the Hardcore albums? I confess, I never did pick those ones up!

Speaking of which, did you ever pick up the Live 1980 DVD? I've watched it three or four times already.

24. I believe the original Booji Boy version is also on
"The Complete Truth About De-evolution" DVD.

And yes, I've been devouring YouTube of late. Finally saw Altered Images videos I'd never seen before. Better late than never!

Oh, and early Happy Birthday, enigmatic.

26. thanks bro
There's an incredible amount of late 70's/early 80's punk/new wave there, isn't it? I saw a couple of Dead Boys live performances there and I couldn't believe my luck!

I'm lucky I'm still in pretty good shape for being in my early 40's despite living hard; I could easily look like Eddie Van Halen right now:

25. America - by The Nice
Keith Emerson who later went on to establish Emerson, Lake and Palmer recorded some pretty wild stuff with The Nice. The title track "America" is a rock, synthesized, psychedelic version of the West Side Story tune.

I'd also suggest "Emergency" by the Tony Williams Lifetime (a jazz/rock fusion power trio of one of the greatest drummers of all time - Tony Williams, the revolutionary guitarist John McLaughlin, and the incredible Larry Young playing organ and keyboard bass - Young often called the "John Coltrane" of the organ). They do some free stuff that is pretty amazing.

I'd also suggest the album entitled "The Soft Machine" by The Soft Machine. I saw them live on stage on the same bill with Hendrix in 1968. They were pretty much out there, kind of what I had hoped Pink Floyd might have become before they became too commercial.
