Snowstorm
Edited on Mon Mar-13-06 11:51 AM by no name no slogan
Well I listen to the weather
And he's changed his tone of voice
And he can see it on the radar
Only seven hours away
Well there's gonna be a snowstorm
When the t.v.'s goin out
And they got nothin else to think of
And they're letting me go home

Well I'm lookin at the snowflakes
And they all look the same
And the clouds are goin by me
They're playin some kind of game
Well you know there's a snowstorm
When the t.v. has gone out
And they got nothin else to think of
And they're letting me go home

I can't even see a block down the street from my office window in downtown St Paul, MN. We are getting nailed today. There's already 6" on the ground since last night, and another 4" is expected by the end of the day.

Take a look for yourself

2. You guys are definitely getting more than us.
For once. I couldn't believe the difference between here and there, when I lived in the cities. Although when our central air was out the entire summer one year, I came back up here to visit my parents alot!

3. I'll visit you in the summer, but thanks! We have daffodils, crocuses,
and forsythia out already -- and the cherry trees are in bloom -- early! We did have some snow once this year (last Thursday -- a couple of inches where we live at 500 ft. elevation. Just about every kid on the block built a snowman!!! Snow is such a rarity here.

6. Going home is more dangerous than staying here
The streets are treacherous right now. The plows aren't even making a dent in the snow-- and it's still coming down.

It's safer to wait it out here than take your chances on the roads right now.

14. It's getting a bit better
I can see a few blocks down the street, at least. It's still coming down, but it will probably be drivable by 4:00.

:)

13. hey mryna!
I'm doing alright! The divorce is a done deal, the old house is long sold, and I didn't lose everything. I only hope the warm weather continues and we can melt some of this stuff off before the boys basketball tournament (which, IIRC, is when we'll probably get another blizzard).

How's things going for you? Seems like ages since I talked to you last!

15. I'm glad that things are going better you you.
How are the kitties? Did you get custody of them?

I'm doing well too. 2006 is much better than last year. Ugh. I was disappointed that I wasn't able to make it to the caucus because I had a really bad cold. Did you go? Anyway...I'll head over to our forum. I really haven't hung out there for quite some time. We should have another get together. I haven't been around to make it to one for quite some time. It would be great to see you all again. :hi:

At 1:17 pm it is STILL snowing. Shades of 1991/

17. I got the cats!
They were the only thing I asked for. She almost took them to the shelter on me, but I ended up rescuing them. Once she made that threat, I lost all respect for her. Talk about a conniving, manipulative, evil witch. How could she even hint at doing that, knowing what they meant to me?

I'm living in St. Paul now, in the Summit Hill neighborhood. I missed the caucuses too, but since Patty dropped out of the Senate race I really don't have a horse to back anymore. Oh well, I'm sure I'll volunteer more toward the fall anyway.

Can you believe the snow? I heard they got over a foot in Red Wing and Hastings. It's times like this I'm glad I no longer own a house (with the driveway and sidewalk to shovel). :woohoo:

:D
