There had been talk of a Boston gathering this coming weekend....
is it going to happen? What day? What was the name of the restaurant again?

I'm trying to get my plans organized so that I can attend.

2. Ok... so does this group want ME to make the decision?
or..... will someone else step up?

Squeech, it was your idea... I'm happy to let you take the lead on this.

3. In that case
I'm going to lunch, and I'll discuss the matter when I get back.

But I think I'll kick the poll thread while I'm at it.

4. Decision
Acknowledging that the poll is a dead heat, I think I'm going to opt for Saturday, based on the (also real close, but not inconclusively so) response to the original thread.

Mrs. Squeech has been telling me that I should postpone it until April, and that has something going for it-- except I think the right thing to do would be to meet Will Pitt at Bukowski's on April Fools Day and make a bunch of ironic toasts to Chuck Hagel, Olympia Snowe, and everybody else who said they wanted the president to obey the law but weren't ever going to cast any votes to enforce that idea...

Anyway, I expect to see some of you on Saturday at the Cafe Belo on Washington Street just outside of Somerville's Union Square.

And I'm gonna cross-post this to the other threads.

6. Some info on Cafe Belo
The address and a map of the area can be found here. There is plenty of parking.

For those taking the MBTA here's some directions. I posted the following in one of the other treads days ago but just remembered that the CT2 doesn't run on weekends but everything else still holds true.

The 86, 91 and CT2 all pass by it. If taking the bus just ask the driver to let you off by Cobble Hill. It's to the right of the little plaza with a few restaurants and stores.

Also it's pretty easy to walk to from Sullivan. After exiting the train station turn right and take a right on Washington St. In about five minutes you'll see it on the left side of the street. It's a brick building with a blue sign.

7. Walking is good
Why I wanted this restaurant, other than that I love the food, is that I can walk there.

I expect to get there by 2PM, but I know about people being fashionably late, so I'm gonna bring a book. (Right now I'm reading What's the Matter with Kansas, but I expect I'll get through it in the next couple days. And so far I don't think it solves our problems, but I do like the image of the great Kansas populist torchlight parade marching up to the gated communities and hollering, "Watch out, you rich people, we're gonna LOWER YOUR TAXES!")
