1. Having owned both the original book
I knew that.

One day, while watching it on TV with wife and kiddies, my wife asked who Ian Fleming. I told her he created James Bond, and she about freaked.

5. I've always preferred the book - the movie is just creepy
with the child catcher, pseudo germans and crazy grandfather plot.

Much prefer the relatively normal family and gangster version in the book.
