Last Night's GALACTICA Season Finale: Genius or Crap?

Okay, so last night's episode took a drastic turn in a whole different direction. Over at the scifi boards, it has been very controversial to say the least. In fact, there is talk that the new episodes in the fall will pick up FIVE YEARS LATER, in addition to the one-year jump in the finale - but that's another story.

So- Last Night's GALACTICA Season Finale: Genius or Crap?

in years. For all that fun and excitement, I call it genious.

I really liked it myself. Espicially since they are taking the story in a new direction and not just following along the lines of the original.

5. I would say genius

though it will depend on what is shown in October.

If that rumor of another 5 years passing comes true then they will be making Helo/Sharon's baby a major factor.

They are not doing any cheesy stuff like the old series did when they did BG 1980: Earth or something like that.

6. It's got me and everyone thinking and 'disturbed'

and I mean that in a good way. I generally don't like the massive 'skip ahead' kind of episode like what last night's finale did but that is just part an parcel with provoking the audience. I like when writers push the boundaries, and that means I get pushed as a viewer, sometimes that means they do things that upset me either with the characters or with the plot (like the 1 year jump in time) but I take that with the good and in the grand scheme, as long as they continue to follow up with quality stuff even those pushes beyond what I think of as my "line" come to be part of what makes the show overall good. And maybe I even learn to accept a new line! :)

The producers and writers of this show have sometimes given me pause to wonder if they've flared out or peaked, but they always come back and overall this show has yet to disappoint me. There's very few shows I can say that about.

So my vote was for "genius".
