1. Or you could politely say to the cat
"No thank you. I'm ( state your age ). I can go all by myself now."

2. I say it's time to whip up some good ol' beer batter
Actually, my folks' cat does that every once in a great while. I don't know why. Most of the time she is a loveable cat. One time she bit my then two year old niece and made her cry. My mom wanted to kill that cat. Sometimes she will spank her for doing that, but she didn't want to in front of my niece and make her more upset.

4. I want Baby Uly to love animals
in the same way that his parents do. At the same time, I'd like for him to not be shredded at some point by the dear, pampered, demonic cat.

7. Since my mom's cat is an inside cat
She got her declawed. Some folks here don't like that sort of thing, but it may have saved my little niece a more serious injury.

10. Mr. Kitty has all his claws
and since he's indoor/outdoor, that's best. But if he ever tags the baby like he just did me (for not letting him out quickly enough), much as I love the cat, he's toast.

5. No "other" ?
Sounds like s/he was just being a CAT. Suck it up, and concede, s/he won

...why I'm not a cat person, and I highly recommend you see yer doc ASAP. Cat bites are dangerously infectious.

12. You serve him as a slave, just as always
it's his house, he just allows you to live in it.

That being said, if my cats scratch or bite, they get cuffed, same as Mama Cat would do to unruly kittens. I don't smack them any harder than momcat would, but I do give them a swat. None of mine scratch or bite. And none cringe from hands, either.
